This incident happened while instructing a CFI student who was wearing a head video cam, because he is a hang glider pilot and uses this camera often. After taking off from the Lebanon airport and reaching an altitude to of approximately 300 feet the engine started missing, as the instructor I immediately announced "I've got it". and took control of the aircraft. My student was in the front seat and I was in the rear seat. Normally in this situation you would land straight ahead because of the low altitude, however, because I still had some power I decided to return to the airport as you can see by the video and the map above. We were never in any real danger there were open fields all around that would provide a good landing spot as an alternative to reaching the airport.
Enjoy the video of the wild times with Ray the flight instructor.
